Drive-by Celebration and Goodbye

Despite the dark clouds and rain, the amazing staff and families at Koepsell showed they are truly superheroes! They cheered, clapped, and wished the children the best as we all ended the 2019/20 school year. Have a safe summer and make some wonderful memories!

Congratulations to Tamia Rogan, the recipient of the Koepsell Council Scholarship!

Those eligible for the Koepsell Elementary School Scholarship must: have been a Koepsell student for a minimum of one year and a graduating senior from South Lake High School, must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or above, participate in extra-curricular activities and volunteer for community service. Tamia says her favorite memory of Koepsell was participating in a team-building activity called Dolphin Days. Koepsell prides itself on building strong relationships and this activity provides an opportunity to have fun with other grade levels and staff. Tamia, along with many other students, have wonderful memories of these days. Congratulations Tamia. We are so proud of you and celebrate your success!

Data-informed and Science-based Approach to Determine If, When, Students Return to School.

On May 15, 2020, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the creation of the Return to Learning Advisory Council. The panel-which will be comprised of students, parents, frontline educators, administrators and public health officials-will be tasked with providing with recommendations on how to safely, equitably, and efficiently return to open schools. The governor said, "I want to thank all of the parents who have been burning the candle at both ends these last few months trying to help their kids with their schoolwork while juggling their other responsibilities during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I know it hasn't been easy."
