Congratulations to Tamia Rogan, the recipient of the Koepsell Council Scholarship!

Those eligible for the Koepsell Elementary School Scholarship must:
have been a Koepsell student for a minimum of one year and a graduating senior from South Lake High School, must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or above, participate in extra-curricular activities and volunteer for community service.
Tamia says her favorite memory of Koepsell was participating in a team-building activity called Dolphin Days. Koepsell prides itself on building strong relationships and this activity provides an opportunity to have fun with other grade levels and staff. Tamia, along with many other students, have wonderful memories of these days.

What Will You Do After the Pandemic and it is Safe?

Students responded to the question-What will you do after the pandemic is over and it is safe?

One of our Koepsell superheroes said, “Get on the airplane and go to Las Vegas to see my Papa."
A fifth grade student replied, "I am going to scream when I go outside. Then I am going to go to my friend's house and scream with him, play video games, watch TV, and ride our bikes."

Data-informed and Science-based Approach to Determine If, When, Students Return to School.

On May 15, 2020, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the creation of the Return to Learning Advisory Council. The panel-which will be comprised of students, parents, frontline educators, administrators and public health officials-will be tasked with providing with recommendations on how to safely, equitably, and efficiently return to open schools. The governor said, "I want to thank all of the parents who have been burning the candle at both ends these last few months trying to help their kids with their schoolwork while juggling their other responsibilities during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. I know it hasn't been easy."

Personal Belongings Pick-up

If you were not able to come to pick up your child's personal belongings/report card on the designated days, bags will be available for pick-up on Tuesdays from 8:00-1:00 until June 9, 2020.

Koepsell Students Graph Favorite Activity!

Students at Koepsell continue to learn about "real" data by responding to a survey on what is their favorite "At Home" See the attachment below for our results. Parents, ask your child the questions to help them learn more about graphs and the analysis of the data. A special thank you to Miss Skiba for encouraging students to use mathematical skills and creating this for us.
